Policies
Policies were formerly known as Connectors (pre-built) and Adapters (custom). Both are now collectively referred to as Policies.
Policies are Boomi Cloud API Management integration features that have been developed and provided ready to use for Cloud customers. Policies not only provide connectivity to external systems but also allow you to change the behaviour of the API at runtime through configuration without writing any code. Policies can be applied for pre-processing of user client requests as well as for post-processing on backend responses to change API behaviour. Policies have been carefully envisioned to address common and evolving business use cases for customers. Policies power compelling features such as HTTP header manipulation, authentication and security (also using third-party IDP), filtering and routing, caching and validation, and content transformation.
Why policies
Policies provide the following benefits:
-
They complement the Cloud API Management product's core functionality and fill gaps for commonly sought functionality that is not yet available out of the box.
-
They can be used across multiple Cloud API Management customers who need similar functionality.
-
They further enhance Cloud API Management's competitive edge and relevancy to customers' and markets' continuously evolving business needs.
